DTF Heat Press Instructions

Thank you for choosing KC CREATIONS for your DTF transfers. Following these instructions will help ensure you achieve the best possible results with your transfers.

Recommended Heat Press Settings

  • Temperature: 300°F - 320°F

  • Pressure: Medium to Firm Pressure

  • Press Time: 10-15 Seconds

Please note that heat press machines can vary slightly, so minor adjustments may be necessary depending on your equipment and garment type.

Step 1: Prepare the Garment

Before pressing your transfer:

  • Place the garment on the heat press.

  • Perform a pre-press for 3-5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.

  • Ensure the pressing surface is smooth and flat.

Step 2: Position the Transfer

  • Place the transfer in the desired location on the garment.

  • Make sure the design is straight and properly aligned before pressing.

  • Avoid shifting the transfer once it has been positioned.

Step 3: Apply Heat

Press the transfer using:

  • 300°F - 320°F

  • 10-15 seconds

  • Medium to firm pressure

Ensure the entire design receives even pressure during the pressing process.

Step 4: Peel the Film

Allow the transfer to cool for a few seconds until it becomes warm or cool to the touch.

Carefully peel the film away using a smooth and consistent motion.

If any part of the design lifts, lay the film back down and press again for an additional 5 seconds.

Step 5: Final Press

After removing the film, perform a final press for 5-10 seconds using:

  • Parchment paper

  • Teflon sheet

  • Finishing sheet

This final press helps improve the durability, softness, and appearance of the transfer.

Washing Instructions

For best results:

  • Wait 24 hours before washing the garment.

  • Wash garments inside out.

  • Use cold water.

  • Tumble dry on low heat or hang dry.

  • Do not use bleach.

  • Do not iron directly on the printed design.

Following these care instructions will help maximize the life of your transfer.

Important Notes

  • Heat press machines are strongly recommended.

  • Household irons are not recommended for DTF transfers.

  • Always test settings when using a new garment type or heat press machine.

  • Different fabrics and equipment may require slight adjustments to temperature, pressure, or time.
